December 2002 News Letter

Dear Friends and Family,December 2002

Merry Christmas! And Happy New Year!

I hope everyone had a great year. This year God has richly blessed Quan and I. It has been very exciting.

The big news this year is our jobs. Quan and I have both switched jobs. I quit my position as a programmer at the newspaper in February. I felt God was telling me it was time to move on. I gave my 2 weeks notice without having another job lined up. But God was faithful, and I didn't miss a day of work.

The new job was a 4 month contract in Arizona, programming for Wells Fargo. Quan and I didn't want to be apart, but it turned our to be a good thing. Quan had been studying to get her Real Estate licensed and taking classes. The new job provided enough extra income for her to quit her job and study full time. Plus it got me out of the house, which freed up her evenings for studying.

Quan passed her state exam the first time, no problems. She has since started working with Prudential California Realty, and has already sold a couple of properties.

After I was finished with my job in Phoenix, I came back to San Diego and started looking for another job. Within 2 weeks, God provided me another position. Now I'm contacting for a company called Cymer. They make lasers used in semi-conductor manufacture. I'm writing a custom piece of software for them, and my contract has been extended at least thru May.

The new jobs have been exciting, and it gives us a chance to rely on God had His grace versus our own abilities. It has increased our faith, and it truly has been a blessed year.

This September, Quan and I went to Hawaii with our church. Our church was putting on a concert, sponsoring a pastor's retreat, conducting a marriage retreat for local couples, and helping a church with some construction projects.

We were on the island of Kauai. It was extremely beautiful, and we found time for snorkeling, hiking, and a helicopter ride while we were on the island. We also enjoyed helping with the events. Quan and I got to help out in many ways on the trip. It was a wonderful time praying with and for the people of the island.

I hope this letter finds it's way to you in time for Christmas. And we pray that God blesses all of you. Please keep in touch and we would love to hear from you. I have links to photos of us on my web site: www.lancerushing.com.
